CF-5200 Frequently Asked Questions
Question number FAQ-0541
The overall value obtained from a standard FFT analysis differs by about 4 dB from the overall value obtained from a 1/3 octave analysis.
It depends on the signal.
In the case of octave analysis, leakage from adjacent bands is also included (due to the broadening of the filter's characteristics), so the resulting value tends to be larger than the overall value obtained with a normal FFT.
The spectrum displays 15 bands.
Since components other than those for 15 bands are cut out, the overall size tends to be smaller.
