I want to connect to a laser printer. I was told that the emulation has to be correct.

I cannot recommend it.

The list of connectable printers includes ESC/P, but only older printers are compatible.
The latest ESC/P compatible laser printers have increased dot counts, and when printed with this, it results in dashed lines instead of solid lines, making the print very faint.
Additionally, size and position need to be adjusted on the printer side.

Models with confirmed issues
Epson: LP8000, LP8400 laser printers

It is possible with a printer that has ESC/PS mode and PC-PR101 mode, but the operation has not been confirmed.
