CF-5200 Frequently Asked Questions
Question number FAQ-0426
What is the difference between FFT and a spectrum analyzer?
FFT is used for signals below a few hundred kHz.
For radio and communication, high frequencies in the MHz range are mainly handled by spectrum analyzers.
FFT is calculated using digital computation, while spectrum analyzers use analog circuit processing.
Both may be referred to collectively as spectrum analyzers.
