(1) In the frequency analysis, frequencies other than the 15 bands required for 1/3 octave display are cut off, so the overall value for 1/3 octave display will be smaller.

(2) Unlike the spectrum, the 1/3 octave band has a broadened band characteristic. Therefore, the influence (leakage) of the spectrum of the adjacent band is taken into account. Due to this leakage, the overall value becomes larger.
