The relationship between data length, frequency resolution, and display length of the TIME waveform is as follows:
The table shows the relationship between data length (number of sampling points), frequency range, frequency resolution, and time waveform display length.

The CF and DS series FFT analyzers treat a number of sampling points equal to 2 to the power of n as a single data group. Therefore, a fixed number of points is displayed on the FFT analyzer's display screen. For example, in the case of a time-domain waveform, 2048 data points are displayed.
In power spectrum display, data points corresponding to the "number of lines" are displayed from 0Hz up to the frequency range. Since the FFT analyzer allows you to set the "frequency range" and "number of sampling points," the "frequency resolution" is determined from the frequency range and sampling points, and the number of lines, which is the reciprocal of the frequency resolution, is determined. In power spectrum display, the power spectrum of several lines is displayed for each step of the frequency resolution. These relationships are shown in the following equation.
