Regarding the effects of changes in ambient temperature on VE series gap detectors.
When the ambient temperature changes, the sensor expands and contracts, causing measurement errors. The mounting fixture also expands and contracts, so these changes must be taken into account.
Effects of sensor expansion and contraction
The change in the measured value due to temperature changes in the sensor is shown in the following formula. The ambient temperature range for measurement accuracy is 23±2°C.

Effects of expansion and contraction of the fixing jig
The expansion and contraction of the fixing jig directly affects measurement accuracy. Please design the jig and control the ambient temperature considering the expansion rate of the materials used in the jig.

If the length of X in the jig shown in the diagram below changes by ΔX, the measured thickness will be measured to be ΔX thinner than the true value.
