Digital Gauges: Frequently Asked Questions
Question number FAQ-0118
Linear gauge sensor output specifications and connector specifications
This document describes the signal output circuit for the GS/BS series linear gauge sensors.
■Signal output
The sensor outputs a two-phase pulse signal. The distance per pulse is shown in the table below.
When connecting to a display other than our own, a frequency multiplier circuit is required to convert the pulse size to 10 μm or 1 μm per pulse for direct reading.
Please be aware of potential noise and other distractions.
| Minimum display unit for GS/BS sensors | Distance between pulses |
|---|---|
| For 10μm precision sensors | 40 μm |
| For 1μm precision sensors | 4 μm |
| GS-7000 series | 2 μm |
| GS-3800 series | 0.4 μm |
■Output circuit and connector wiring diagram
The output circuit comes in four different configurations depending on the model.
