Digital Gauges: Frequently Asked Questions

Question number FAQ-0097

Explanation of MAX/MIN/R measurement modes for DG-825, DG-925, DG-525, and DG-525H.

In MAX/MIN/R (R: maximum value - minimum value) mode, the maximum and minimum values are continuously captured, and the display holds the peak. (Since the data sampling time is approximately 30ms, it may not be possible to hold the true value for displacements during that time.)

MODE: ○ Press lightly and release

The display switches in the following order: Normal Mode → MAX Mode → MIN Mode → R Mode → Normal Mode.

<1> Maximum value display

Pressing the MODE switch once from normal mode switches the display to MAX mode, which displays and holds the maximum value of the measured value.

<2> Minimum value display

Pressing the MODE switch again from MAX mode switches to MIN mode, which displays and holds the minimum measured value.

<3> Range (maximum value - minimum value) display

Pressing the mode switch again from MIN mode switches to R mode, which displays the value of maximum minus minimum (MAX - MIN).

<4> Return to normal mode

Pressing it one more time will return you to normal mode.

<5> Data Reset

To reset the data, return the spindle to the reference point and press the reset switch.
In any of the MAX/MIN/R modes, resetting the device will start measurement from 0.00. If you reset in normal mode and then switch to MAX mode, MAX/MIN measurement will start from the display at the time of the switch (e.g., +12.34 in the example in <1>).
