Digital Gauges: Frequently Asked Questions

Question number FAQ-0088

Instructions for operating the absolute measurement function on DG-825, DG-925, DG-525, and DG525H.

This measurement function uses the spindle position when the power is turned on as the zero point, and continues to measure at that position until the power is turned off.

This value can be viewed by switching the switch from any of the normal measurement functions. (Turning off the power will also reset the measurement values from the absolute measurement function.)

Resetting at any position using the normal measurement function will not affect the zero point of the absolute measurement.

This is useful when you need to read both relative and absolute values.

(1) Measurement method

When the power is on, the display shows the normal measurement function.

From the normal measurement function, press and hold the RESET switch for approximately 2 seconds, then release the switch when the "AB" mark is displayed.

<Note>
Please note that if you press the switch for too short a time, the displayed value of the normal measurement function will be reset to zero.

(2) How to restore

To return to the normal measurement function, press the RESET switch. This will return you to the mode you were in when you switched to the absolute measurement function.

(3) Switch operation during absolute measurement

RESET:

○The system will return to normal measurement functions.

POWER:

Turn off the power. To reset the absolute measurement function to zero, turn the POWER switch off and then on again.

+/−:

The direction switch is disabled in absolute measurement mode. The counting direction is fixed to the ▲ mark, so it may be the opposite of normal measurement mode.
