Linear gauge mounting method (mounting tolerance, tightening torque)

■Mounting tolerances when fixing the main unit

Use a rigid jig for fixing the linear gauge body, and mount it at a right angle.
The recommended mounting angle is 0.15 degrees (perpendicularity 260 μm/100 mm) or less. If the linear gauge body is mounted at an angle, lateral force will be applied to the spindle, which can cause malfunction.
Also, the fixing jig should be L-shaped. This will make it easier to mount the linear gauge body at a right angle.

■Tightening torque value when fixing the main unit

The recommended tightening torque values for the screws used to secure the linear gauge body are shown in the table below.

After tightening, always check the movement of the spindle. If it does not move well, it has been overtightened, so loosen it. However, if you loosen it too much, the main body will become unstable and accurate measurements will not be possible. Pay attention to the movement of the spindle after tightening. If necessary, use threadlocker in conjunction with tightening.

■Tightening torque value for the stem mounting section

After tightening, be sure to check the movement of the spindle. If it does not move well, it has been overtightened, so loosen it. However, if you loosen it too much, the stem will become unstable and accurate measurements will not be possible. Pay attention to the movement of the spindle after tightening.
