DG-4280 BCD OUT specifications

Please refer to the instruction manual for details.

To input the BCD signal into a sequencer or similar device, make sure to hold the signal using a hold signal.
The connection to external devices is the same as for the DG-4240, so please refer to the DG4240 BCD Receiver Recommended Circuit.

(1) BCD OUT connector, cable

    One end with the above connector, the other end open, 3m in length.
    It is available as an option.

(3) Explanation of the signal content

  • BCD output pins No. 1-20
    Positive/negative logic switching, 5-digit parallel output.
    Open collector output

The bit switch 3 shown in <18> below can be switched to negative logic when it's on and to positive logic when it's off.
BCD output, polarity output, and decimal point output can be switched between positive and negative logic.

Set polarity = Measured polarity and
The device turns on when the set value is less than or equal to the measured value.

 

  • Polarity output pins: No. 25 (+ output), No. 26 (- output)

    • If you turn on bit switch 3 and select negative logic,

  • If you turn off bit switch 3 and select positive logic, the on/off states of Nos. 25 and 26 above will be reversed.

 

(4) Decimal point output

Pin No. 27 (D.P3, when minimum measurement unit of 10 μm is selected)
Pin No. 28 (D.P4, when minimum measurement unit of 1 μm is selected)
Open collector output

  • If you turn on bit switch 3 and select negative logic,
    When bit switch 1 is turned on and 1 μm is selected: No. 27: off (high level), No. 28: on (low level)
    When bit switch 1 is turned off and 10μm is selected: No.27: off (high level), No.28: on (low level)
  • If you turn off bit switch 3 and select positive logic, the on/off states of numbers 27 and 28 above will be reversed.

 

(5) Error output pin No. 30

Open collector output
If a miscount occurs in the device's counting circuit, an ON signal will be output. This ON signal will persist until the device is reset.

 

(6) Hold input pin No. 31

When a low-level voltage signal is input, the displayed value and BCD output data are held, and a print command signal is output. This hold state continues as long as the signal is low. However, even during the hold state, the counting circuit continues to perform counting operations in response to the input signal from the gauge sensor, so when the hold is released, the displayed value and BCD output data change to the measured value at that time.

 

(7) Reset input pin No. 32

When a low-level voltage signal is input, the displayed value, BCD output data, error display, and error output are reset. The reset state persists as long as this signal is low.

 

(8) BUSY input pin No. 33

<6> This is the same state as a hold input. It is used for timing external devices such as printers.

 

(9) Print command output pin No. 35

Open collector output
When a hold signal or busy signal is input and the displayed value and BCD output are held, a negative pulse print command signal is output.
