Troubleshooting - Regarding blinking display

  • The display of measurement errors (flashing indicator) is the same across all models in the DG4000 series.
  • If a measurement error occurs, the display will blink and the BCD out error output will turn on, but this does not indicate a malfunction of the device.
  • For safety and noise reduction, be sure to ground the grounding terminal.

(1) Causes and countermeasures for measurement errors

causecountermeasure
If the movement speed of the sensor spindle exceeds the maximum response speed specified for the GS sensorReduce the movement speed of the object being measured or the sensor itself so that the sensor's spindle movement speed is below the maximum response speed.
If the impact at the moment the tip of the spindle hits the object being measured exceeds the maximum response speed.Same as above
If the sensor input signal is affected by external noise(1) If the sensor signal cable is routed near a noise source (motor, solenoid valve, etc.), change the routing.
(2) Do not make the sensor signal cord longer than necessary.
(3) Ensure that the device is properly grounded.
2mm 2 Use the above soft copper wire to create a grounding wire no longer than 20 meters.
If the sensor output signal is shifted by a "90° phase difference"
(When the zero point is not displayed as zero with each measurement, but the value gradually increases.)
Please replace the sensor.
If the input/output signals of the BCD connector are affected by external noise
(Will it work normally if I disconnect the BCD connector?)
(1) Use shielded wire for the signal cord, and keep it to approximately 3 meters in length, not longer than necessary.
(2) If the sensor signal cable is routed near a noise source (motor, solenoid valve, etc.), change the routing of the cable.
When the terminal block input signal is affected by external noiseSame as above

(2) Check for GS sensor malfunction

causecountermeasure
If the display does not count up/down when you slowly move the spindle part of the GS sensor up and down with your finger,Please replace the GS sensor.
When resetting at the reference point and then moving the spindle up and down to return to the reference point, if the display shows a value that is not 0,
The spindle does not move smoothly.

(3) Recovery from measurement error

After implementing the necessary countermeasures and eliminating the cause, press the RESET button on the front panel of the unit to reset it. For other reset methods, such as terminal block input, please refer to the specifications of your specific model.
