Digital Gauge Frequently Asked Questions

Question number FAQ-0053

Is it possible to retrieve all values of MAX, MIN, and RANGE in a single peak hold measurement?

It is possible. In peak hold measurement, all values of MAX, MIN, and RANGE are measured simultaneously and held internally in the DG-4160 until the next peak hold start or reset input. Therefore, it is possible to recall any data even after the peak hold is released. Thus, all values can be read into the PLC after the measurement period without interfering with the line process (during the time until the next sample is set).

Peak hold measurement is performed in the following steps.

  • Peak hold ON Input the signal.
During peak hold ON, it measures MAX, MIN, and RANGE.
  • Repeat 1.
When the peak hold ON signal is input, the previous value is reset and measurement begins.

Reset Input Timing Chart

The pulse width of the reset signal requires a minimum of 40 ms. The time from inputting the reset signal to entering the reset state, as well as the time from removing the reset signal to exiting the reset state, is both a maximum of 40 ms.
