LC-1100/SF-660B Spatial Filter Detector Installation Precautions - Part 1
The LC-1100/SF-660B spatial filter detector should be mounted in a safe location with minimal engine vibration, either at the front, rear, or sides of the vehicle, using the included mounting jig. However, the mounting direction of the detector must be adjusted to suit the mounting location. The detector can be freely rotated by loosening the "detector fixing knob" on the holder, so be sure to fix it in place so that the measurement direction aligns with the vehicle's centerline.
1. When installing on the front or rear of the vehicle

Choose a location as perpendicular as possible to the vehicle's centerline and secure the mounting jig plate. Then, loosen the "detector fixing knob" and make sure to align the "measurement direction indicator arrow▼" marked on the surface of the detector with the "vehicle front/rear mounting compatible twist angle adjustment indicator line" on the holder. After this, tighten the "detector fixing knob" securely before use.

2. When mounting on the side of the vehicle

Choose a location as parallel as possible to the vehicle's centerline and secure the mounting jig plate. Then, loosen the "detector fixing knob" and realign the "measurement direction indicator arrow▼" marked on the detector's surface with the "vehicle side mounting compatible twist angle adjustment indicator line" on the holder or the center of the groove on the opposite side. After this, tighten the "detector fixing knob" securely before use!

In the case of the 'SF-660B', as with the 'LC-1100', the detector has an arrow indicating the measurement direction.
Use the "vehicle side mounting compatible twist angle adjustment indicator line" on the holder part, or the groove on the opposite side, to adjust the mounting angle.
3. Special provisions for installation on the front or rear of the vehicle
If, due to the shape of the front and rear of the vehicle, it is absolutely impossible to orient the mounting jig plate perpendicular to the vehicle's centerline, then, as shown in ph7, slightly offset the "measurement direction indicator arrow▼" marked on the detector from the "twist angle adjustment indicator line," and mount it so that the line connecting the measurement direction indicator arrows marked on the front and back is parallel to the vehicle's centerline.

This method is prone to measurement errors, so please use it only as a last resort. After measurement is complete, be sure to readjust the marks as shown above.
4. Relationship between the mounting position of the 'LC-1100/SF-660B spatial filter detector' and illuminance.
The LC-1100/SF-660B spatial filter detector is designed to perform at its best when fixed in the position shown in Figure 1. If it is fixed at the rear end, as shown in Figure 2, only the light-emitting part will be separated, resulting in a larger "deviation" from the center of the light-receiving axis and a decrease in illuminance. In particular, if the entire detector is far from the road surface, as shown in Figure 4, the illuminance will decrease drastically, resulting in measurement errors. Also, if it is fixed at the front end, as shown in Figure 3, only the light-emitting part will be brought closer, increasing the illuminance, but the "deviation" from the center of the light-receiving axis will also increase, causing measurement errors. Please fix and use the detector in the correct position shown in Figure 1 whenever possible.
