Vehicle Speedometer Frequently Asked Questions

Question number FAQ-0034

How should the main unit, antenna, and small IMU be installed? (Installation direction, horizontal/vertical alignment)

The main unit with a built-in IMU and the optional miniature IMU must be installed in a specific direction and angle.

For the main unit, install it with the "FRONT" marking on the top of the unit facing the front of the vehicle.
Please ensure that the "FRONT" marking is positioned within ±5° of vertical accuracy and ±10° of horizontal accuracy in front of the vehicle.
(Only if the optional small IMU is not used)
For small IMUs, the arrow pointing in the X direction should be positioned facing the direction of vehicle travel.
Like the main unit, please install it so that the vertical accuracy in front of the vehicle is within ±5° and the horizontal accuracy is within ±10°.
Please note that if a small IMU is connected, the orientation of the main unit is not fixed. Any orientation is acceptable.

The antenna is installed on the roof or dashboard.

When installing an antenna on the roof, make sure to install it on a level surface.

The base of the antenna is magnetic, allowing it to be directly attached to metal roofs.

If installing the antenna on the roof, the main unit or small IMU should be installed directly below or near the antenna.

(This applies only when the optional small IMU is not used.)

When installing the antenna on the dashboard, the magnet on the bottom of the antenna cannot be used.
Secure the antenna to the bottom using double-sided tape or similar adhesive.

Whether on the roof or dashboard, secure the cable in several places with tape to prevent it from falling.
Also, please do not attach fixing tape to the top surface of the antenna, as this may reduce reception sensitivity.
