In a GPS speedometer using an IMU, initialization of the IMU is necessary to fuse satellite signals and IMU signals.

The initialization method for the Ono Sokki GPS speedometer is to move forward at a speed of 30 km/h or more after turning on the power.

When moving forward at a speed of 30 km/h or more, the IMU initialization will automatically begin.

Please ensure that the vehicle moves straight in the direction of travel.

During the IMU initialization, a mark indicating that initialization is in progress (IS) will be displayed on the algorithm accuracy display of the measurement screen, and the STATUS LED located on the front panel of the LC-8300 main unit will light up orange.

After the initialization starts, the STATUS LED lights up green, and the algorithm accuracy display shows the operation mode mark (N) and accuracy (numerical value). Until the initialization is completely finished, the display will continue to show 'N0' indicating that it is out of accuracy guarantee for a while.

After running for about 60 seconds after the initialization starts, if the display changes from 'N0' to 'N2' through 'N9', the initialization is complete.

Both the internal IMU and the optional small IMU are handled in the same way.

Initialization must be performed every time the power is turned on.
