Ono Sokki to exhibit at the science festival "AICHI TECH DAY 2026"

Ono Sokki Co., Ltd. (President Yuji Okoshi), a manufacturer and seller of electronic measuring instruments, exhibited at "AICHI TECH DAY 2026" (hosted by the AICHI TECH DAY Executive Committee) held on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the "Aichi Chikyu Expo Commemorative Park Global Citizen Exchange Center" in Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture.

AICHI TECH DAY is an interactive science event aimed at conveying the appeal of science, technology, and manufacturing to people of all generations and backgrounds, in response to the increasingly serious shortage of STEM talent and the declining interest in science among younger generations. 44 organizations, including university research groups, companies, and science clubs, exhibited at the event, which was held for the second time this year. Approximately 3,300 people, mainly families, attended, making the venue a great success.

At our booth, we held interactive activities utilizing measuring instruments, such as a "Loud Voice Contest." Many people, from children to adults, participated and experienced the fun and importance of "measuring" in a game-like way.

Through our participation in this event, we aim to leverage our long-cultivated "measurement technology" to widely promote the appeal of manufacturing and contribute to nurturing the next generation's interest in science and manufacturing. We will also strive to raise awareness of the "Chubu Linkage Commons (CLC)," scheduled to open in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture in the fall of 2027, and continue to actively engage in community-based business activities.

Ono Sokki Booth: 'Measuring Yourself!'

At our booth, "Measure and See!", we used measuring instruments to allow children and adults alike to experience the importance and fun of "measuring" in a game-like way. By actually measuring "sound," "force," and "length," which are usually invisible, we provided an opportunity for people to feel closer to measurement technology.

Breaking the Limits! The Loud Voice Contest

Using the "LA-7500 high-performance sound level meter" and an original app, participants competed by measuring the volume of their voices. The records of the top three players were displayed, and many visitors tried their luck until just before closing time, making the venue very lively.

Can you become a twisting master?!

Using the "RH Series Compact High-Rigidity Torque Detector" and an original app, participants played a game where they collected apples and competed for points. The further away from the center of the screen, the greater the twisting force (torque) required, and participants tried different force levels to take on the challenge. While experiencing the magnitude of torque, they also got a taste of the fun of measurement.

Let's take a peek into the world of millimeters!

Using the "GS Series Digital Linear Gauge Sensor," participants measured the thickness of everyday objects while trying to predict it. Using CDs, tissues, plastic wrap, and aluminum foil as examples, they experienced the difference between their usual perception and the actual measured values, deepening their understanding of the world of "millimeters."
