Ono Sokki (President: Yuji Okoshi), a manufacturer and distributor of electronic measuring instruments, has selected the "BYD Kaiho 06 DM-i" as the next vehicle to be measured for its new "Benchmarking Report Sales" business. In addition, the company also announces the launch of a joint project with Kobelco Research Institute, Inc. to evaluate the vehicle's performance at Ono Sokki and to hold a disassembly exhibit at Kobelco Research Institute, Inc.
Our "Benchmarking Report Sales" have previously focused on electric vehicles (EVs), but this time we have selected plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) as the target vehicle because they have set unprecedented records: "world-class engine thermal efficiency of 46.06%", "low fuel consumption of 2.9 L/100 km", and "driving range exceeding 2100 km". Automakers both domestically and internationally are paying attention to its performance, and we would like to be among the first to investigate and clarify its performance from the perspective of a measurement equipment manufacturer.
Furthermore, by collaborating with Kobelco Research Institute, which is highly skilled in disassembling and examining components, we can meet our customers' needs to "quickly confirm not only the measured values but also what kind of ingenuity has been incorporated into the component parts."
The disassembled vehicle demonstration is planned by Kobelco Research Institute for corporate clients around February 2025. Our "Benchmarking Report Sales" (which comprehensively covers the dynamic performance of the vehicle under various conditions) are scheduled to be released sequentially starting in the spring of 2025.
