(Headquarters: Kohoku-ku, Yokohama City, President: Yuji Okoshi), a manufacturer and distributor of electronic measuring instruments, will begin selling its multi-channel multi-comparator * "Noise Testing Software GN-1200" on November 21, 2023 (Tuesday). This software measures and analyzes noise, vibration, and other noises in automotive parts and home appliances on production lines.

"Noise testing software GN-1200" and "Data station DS-5000"
This product is the successor to the "Noise Testing Software GN-1100" released in 2015. It is a multi-channel multi-comparator that can perform 100% inspection and anomaly diagnosis for noise, vibration, and other issues in the production environment of rotating machinery.
The newly released "Noise Testing Software GN-1200" retains the popular wide range of measurement and analysis, high-speed signal processing, and automatic judgment functions of previous versions. Furthermore, by incorporating "real-world feedback" from users on production lines, it adds a color map judgment function that detects noise components generated during malfunctions in motors/inverters, and a 1/3 bundled octave band judgment function that identifies abnormal noises that people find unpleasant, thus further enhancing its functionality. By introducing this product to the market, we aim to contribute to the transformation of Japanese manufacturing into "smart factories."

Background of Development
The automotive industry is currently accelerating the development of electric vehicles (xEVs) in order to realize a carbon-neutral society. In particular, there is an increasing demand for improved performance in key components such as large drive motors, various small motors, gearboxes including reduction gears, and e-axles that combine these components.
The "Noise Testing Software GN-1200," which we are releasing this time, works in conjunction with our "Data Station DS-5000" to enhance the ability to detect abnormal vibrations and noises caused by these high-speed motors, and adds new functions. With this version upgrade, it is now possible to support motors, gearboxes, and other components that have been in high demand in recent years.

It comes standard with a pass/fail judgment function and can be used as a multi-channel (ch) comparator.
Simultaneous analysis of measured signals
Multiple analyses/judgments, such as frequency analysis, tracking analysis, and octave analysis, can be performed simultaneously.
Automatic measurement using communication functions
Equipped with a Step function that allows you to register and continuously execute up to 20 analysis/judgment conditions within the software itself, according to the operating patterns (acceleration/deceleration/constant speed) of the device inspecting the workpiece, it enables unlimited automated measurement when combined with the optional communication function.

You can set a judgment plane in any band on the color map and pass/fail judgment of the analysis data. It can be used to detect higher-order noise components caused by waviness or minute machining scratches on the gear tooth surfaces used in BEV/HEV gear units, or by abnormalities in motors/inverters, etc.

We've added a judgment function that uses 1/3 bundled octave analysis data, which allows for judgments of quality that closely resemble human hearing. In particular, judgment using the differences in data between adjacent bands is effective in extracting sounds that sound harsh or distorted.

Bivariate graphing function
You can select any two data points from the data input to the measurement channel/rotation speed channel of the data station, plot a two-axis graph, and perform correlation evaluation of the data. Using parameters such as torque, rotation speed, displacement, and vibration acceleration, it can be used to create inspection indicators for runout during operation of workpieces that rotate at high speeds, such as motors.
