Responding to the diversifying needs for rotational speed measurement, contributing to improved productivity and stable quality, and promoting "DX and smart factory transformation."

Digital tachometer TM-4000 series released

Ono Sokki Co., Ltd. (President: Yuji Okoshi), a manufacturer and distributor of electronic measuring instruments, has renewed its lineup of Digital Tachometer and will sequentially release all four series of the "TM-4000" series starting September 14, 2023.

  • Four key features of the new product

Since our founding in 1954, we have been manufacturing and selling electronic measuring instruments. In the same year, we developed the first tachometer in Japan for measuring the rotational speed of jet engines. As a pioneer in digital measuring instruments, we have provided technical and research and development support in various fields, including the aerospace industry, motorcycle and automobile industries, construction machinery, and the automotive parts industry.
Nowadays, rotating machinery is used in a wide range of fields, including home appliances, transport and machine tools, and industrial machinery such as power generation equipment. Accurately measuring and controlling the rotational speed of these devices helps minimize losses that hinder productivity and efficiency.
By introducing the "TM-4000" series to the market, we will meet the diversifying needs for rotational speed measurement while assisting in the realization of "DX and smart factory transformation" in the fields of home appliances and transportation/machine tools.

Four key features of the new product

  • While inheriting the functions and performance of previous models, it pursues higher precision and faster response times.

  • Uses an OLED display

  • Supports Ethernet communication as an optional feature.

  • A range of features are available to suit various usage scenarios (scheduled for sequential release in October).

Target Market

Our wide variety of detectors can be combined with other components to create optimal measurement and control systems for applications such as semiconductor inspection equipment, bearing evaluation equipment, film manufacturing lines, and development and inspection of automobiles and conveying machinery.
It can be used in measurement, control, and inspection of rotating machinery used in various industrial fields.

Background of Development

The TM-3100 series Digital Tachometer has been redesigned, offering a new lineup that integrates a multi-function tachometer, reversible counter, and transit time/speed meter. While inheriting the functions and performance of previous models, it pursues higher precision and faster response times. Existing sensors can be used without modification. Furthermore, it features a clearly visible OLED display and supports Ethernet communication *.
Furthermore, you can select the input/output format to match the external devices and sensors you are connecting, and customize it by combining various functions such as analog output, comparator output, and DC power supply.
*Optional features

Features

We have revamped our Digital Tachometer lineup, now offering four series in total.

TM-4100 series

Basic single-channel rotary input. Maintains compatibility with previous models (TM-3100 series).

TM-4200 series

Rotation 2-channel input type. Capable of measuring rotational speed difference and speed ratio.

TM-4300 series

Calculation and addition/subtraction counter
Combined with a roller encoder, it measures the length and travel distance of the conveyed object.

TM-4400 series

Measurement of passage time and speed
Measures the travel distance and passage time of cylinders and other components in injection molding machines.

* Customization is also possible to match the external devices being connected.

The analog output function has been further improved in terms of accuracy and responsiveness.

Linearity improved to 0.1% FS, minimum update time to 1 ms.

Enhanced digital communication features

Ethernet communication functionality has been added, enabling network connectivity.

Easy-to-view and easy-to-use display

The display area has been completely redesigned. The adoption of OLED technology provides excellent visibility and ease of use.
