The industry's smallest and lightest class ultra-compact and ultra-light 3-axis acceleration sensor NP-3550

We are pleased to announce the addition of a new 3-axis Accelerometer to our lineup, achieving ultra-compact size and ultra-lightweight design with a volume 1/4 and mass 1/5 of conventional models. Accelerometer are most commonly used in vibration testing for performance evaluation purposes in manufacturing, including automobiles, home appliances, and industrial equipment.

In recent years, in manufacturing, Model-Based Development (MBD), which utilizes simulations to shorten development time and reduce costs, is being promoted as a development process that identifies issues in the early stages of development and reduces the number of prototypes. Improving the accuracy of the test specimen model used is a challenge in optimizing simulations, and accurate measured data is required, so sensors that are as small as possible in mass and can measure at multiple points are needed.

The NP-3550 achieves the smallest and lightest size in the industry, measuring 6.35 mm square and weighing approximately 1 g. In particular, by reducing the mass to about 1/5 of conventional products, it is possible to reduce the shift in resonant frequency caused by mass loading.

With the release of the NP-3564N10 in December 2021, which offers high sensitivity and can measure minute vibrations, and the ultra-compact and ultra-lightweight NP-3550, we are contributing to improving the vibration damping of precision equipment and to Model-Based Design (MBD) through our measurement technology.

Features

  • Compared to conventional products, the volume is approximately 1/4 and the mass is approximately 1/5. The effects of mass loading are reduced.
  • The cable and sensor are detachable. If the cable breaks, only the cable needs to be replaced.
  • Industry-standard, versatile sensitivity: 1 mV/(m/ )
  • CE marking obtained

Examples of measurement applications

  • Simultaneous multi-point measurement such as operational analysis and experimental modal analysis.
  • Performance evaluation testing of miniaturized and lightweight products such as small motors.
