Using psychoacoustic parameters such as "loudness" and "sharpness," which are related to physical quantities like "sound pressure level" and "octave analysis," we express sound quality using parameters closer to human perception, such as "pitch" and "fluctuation," and quantitatively evaluate the human impression of sound.
Example: Comparing 6 types of machine sounds. Even if the A-weighted sound pressure level (yellow: dB) is the same, the loudness results (blue: sone) show that the perceived loudness of the sounds differs.

OS-0526 Variable Sound Analysis Function
It can extract only the sound components (time-varying components) that cause abnormal noises. It can detect and analyze extremely difficult-to-find sound fluctuation components, such as the "rattling" and "buzzing" sounds when a car is in motion, or the "buzzing" noise mixed in with the rotation of a motor, meeting the demand for noise reduction in various products. It is based on loudness (sound level considering the characteristics of human hearing), and provides analysis results that are close to human hearing. In addition, it is equipped with a fluctuation sound simulator function, making it easy to compare sounds with increased or decreased fluctuation.

This is the result of a sound analysis of a motor noise that includes an abnormal sound such as a "buzzing" sound. Two frequency components that fluctuate strongly around 120Hz can be identified.

This method can capture transient phenomena that were difficult to observe with FFT analysis or octave analysis. By using short-time Fourier transforms and wavelet transforms when analyzing short-duration phenomena, it is possible to clearly display the time evolution of frequency components while maintaining frequency resolution.
