Laser Doppler Vibrometer Application
Amplitude measurement of ultrasonic tools
This system enables amplitude measurement of objects that operate at high speeds exceeding 20 kHz, such as ultrasonic welding machines and ultrasonic processing machines. Amplitude values and frequency analysis allow for assessment of welding quality and the timing of equipment maintenance.
Measurement of amplitude and resonance points of components mounted on a circuit board
Due to its high spatial resolution, Laser Doppler Vibrometer can pinpoint and detect the amplitude of electronic components mounted on an electronic circuit board during vibration testing. It can also identify cases where components vibrate beyond the specified acceleration due to differences in mass or vibration modes of the circuit board, resulting in unexpected loads on the components.
Measurement of thin film vibrations
The LV-1800, characterized by its no-load, non-contact operation, is ideal for amplitude measurement of thin films. It can also measure the amplitude of transparent films such as the diaphragm and receiver of microphones in mobile devices, speaker cones, and LCD films.
Measurement through glass
Laser Doppler Vibrometer do not detect transparent objects that are not at the focal point. This characteristic can be used to detect the amplitude of objects placed in a vacuum chamber or constant temperature bath by irradiating them with a laser through glass or quartz.
Measurement of microstructures
The LV-1800's standard laser spot diameter is approximately Φ20 μm, but by attaching the LV-0151B objective lens, it can be narrowed to a minute spot diameter of approximately Φ3 μm. This high spatial resolution enables detection of things that were previously difficult, such as the amplitude of microstructures like MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems).
