Real-time Tripartite Graph / VC Curves (Vibration Criterion Curves)

real-time tripartite graph display function

The CF-9200A/CF-9400A can simultaneously read frequency (Hz) and three amplitude values (acceleration (m/s 2)/velocity (m/s)/displacement (m)) in real time using a tripartite graph ※1.
Additionally, by performing 1/3 octave processing and displaying the VC curve ※2 (Vibration Criterion Curves), it allows for a quick assessment of the allowable vibration standards and installation environment evaluation for vibration-sensitive precision instruments such as AFM, electron microscopes, and laser interferometers.

Unlike conventional methods that require separate differentiation and integration processing for frequency analysis to convert amplitude values, it enables speedy readings of each amplitude value.

※1 The tripartite graph (figure) allows for amplitude readings of acceleration (m/s 2), velocity (m/s), and displacement (m) based on the frequency (Hz) axis.

※2 The VC curve is proposed as a standard for allowable micro-vibrations when installing precision machinery. When using the VC curve, evaluation is conducted in 1/3 octave bandwidth, and the standards are divided into five levels (VC-A, VC-B, VC-C, VC-D, VC-E) in 6 dB increments, serving as guidelines for applications ranging from optical microscopes to long optical path laser devices.

Wide Dynamic Range

Wide Dynamic Range

The CF-9200A/CF-9400A features a newly developed front end with 24-bit A/D, achieving a wide dynamic range of over 120 dB. It eliminates the need for changing the voltage range due to A/D over, which was frequently done in normal acoustic and vibration measurements.

There is no longer a need to redo measurements or data records, significantly advancing measurement and analysis work, and allowing beginner users who are unfamiliar with FFT analyzers to use it with confidence.

Full Input Isolation

Full Input Isolation

The CF-9200A/CF-9400A isolates (insulates) all signal input channels.
It has high resistance to ground loops and noise superposition, achieving reliable measurements in measurement sites and targets where potential differences are likely to occur.

Additionally, it protects important systems from FFT signals and sensors that may be exposed to dangerous transient voltages.

CCLD ※ equipped TEDS ※ compatible

Each input channel is equipped with CCLD (Constant Current Line Drive) for sensor power supply. Built-in preamplifier accelerometers, charge output type accelerometer charge converters, and measurement microphones can be directly driven from CF-9200A/CF-9400A.
Additionally, using TEDS sensors allows for automatic power supply to the sensor and unit calibration.

※ CCLD (Constant Current Line Drive) refers to a constant current drive method for sensor interfaces. By supplying constant current power to built-in preamplifier type accelerometers and measurement microphone preamplifiers, they can be directly connected to inputs such as FFT analyzers without the need for external amplifiers. Typically, the constant current power supply is around 2 to 4 mA.

※ TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) is a general term for a format that describes sensor-specific information embedded in measurement sensors, as specified in the IEEE1451 series. By directly connecting TEDS sensors that incorporate TEDS information, the information is automatically read, eliminating the need for cumbersome calibration work, thus reducing measurement preparation time and enabling reliable measurements.

FFT basic analysis function

time axis waveform

Time Axis Waveform Display Screen for CF-9200A/CF-9400A

The voltage signals from sensors such as vibrations, noise, distortion, and current probes are converted to A/D and displayed as data in the time axis domain.

With the search cursor, you can directly read the X-axis and Y-axis values of any point, and using the delta cursor function, you can easily read time differences and level differences.

By using the time axis statistical analysis function, quantitative analysis of time waveforms such as mean (MEAN), root mean square (RMS), and crest factor can be performed, as well as abnormal diagnosis.

power spectrum

Power spectrum display screen of CF-9200A/CF-9400A

The power spectrum is obtained by performing FFT analysis to determine the power of each frequency component contained in the captured time-domain waveform, based on the frequency band width (frequency resolution ⊿f), and is graphically represented with frequency on the horizontal axis.

By conducting power spectrum analysis, it is possible to measure vibration noise levels and detect equipment anomalies and natural frequencies of structures that are difficult to estimate with time waveforms alone.

frequency response function

frequency response function

The frequency response function (FRF) represents the ratio of input to output in mechanical or electrical circuits on the frequency axis in terms of gain characteristics and phase characteristics.

The gain characteristic indicates how the amplitude changes as the input signal passes through the transfer system being evaluated, with the Y-axis displayed as the amplitude ratio of output to input.

The phase characteristic shows the lead or lag of the phase between the input and output signals, with the Y-axis displayed in degrees or radians.

Option Analysis Software

Tracking Analysis Function (CF-0922)

Tracking Analysis Function (CF-0922)

The tracking analysis function (CF-0922) automatically saves vibrations and noise generated when various rotating machines operate in low to high-speed ranges while performing FFT, allowing for the analysis of physical phenomena such as vibrations and noise that change with speed based on the rotational speed.

Machines that rotate around an axis, such as engines, gearboxes, turbines, and electric motors, operate over a wide range of speeds from low to high. At specific rotational speeds, components may resonate, causing significant vibrations and noise. To reduce the risk of damage and improve the quietness of the equipment, it is necessary to evaluate the relationship between the rotational speed and the natural frequencies of the components.

By using the tracking analysis function (CF-0922), the relationship between rotational speed and the resulting physical phenomena can be visualized and analyzed from various perspectives, such as color maps, three-dimensional graphs, and harmonic components based on one rotation, allowing for an overview of the specified rotational speed range.

Octave Analysis Function (CF-0923)

Octave Analysis Function (CF-0923)

An octave means double the frequency, and because the frequency characteristics perceived by the ear are geometric, octave analysis (CF-0923) is effective for noise analysis.

In the frequency range of the noise to be measured, it is possible to obtain the sound pressure level for each band by passing through bandpass filters specified by the 1/1 octave or 1/3 octave standards.

Log Sweep / Vibration Control Function (CF-0942)

Log Sweep / Vibration Control Function (CF-0942)

The Log sweep function continuously varies the frequency of the driving sine wave from the 1ch signal output module (CF-0971), allowing for the evaluation of the resonance point of the target transmission system.

By performing a sine sweep on the frequency axis using a Log scale, it is possible to obtain gain and phase for each frequency, enabling the accurate determination of the response function with a high S/N ratio.

Additionally, the vibration control allows for the control of the amplitude of the vibrator within an arbitrary range during vibration and sweeping, enabling vibration tests to be conducted without considering the frequency characteristics of the electromagnetic vibrator.
