We have upgraded 4-wheel Chassis Dynamometer (bench-type testing equipment) test room located in the Automotive Testing Lab (automotive testing building) at the Utsunomiya Technical & Product Center, and have begun using it as a bench for evaluation testing of NV (*) in completed vehicles.

By combining the Ono Sokki and 4-wheel Chassis Dynamometer systems with movable sound absorption equipment, this facility enables NV evaluation testing, such as the contribution of noise propagation into the cabin caused by tires and other components. In addition, the combination of a test cell with a thermostatic chamber and NV measurement environment enables investigations that include temperature characteristics, such as the relationship between tire temperature and sound pressure characteristics.
In today's automotive industry, the increasing prevalence of electric vehicles has led to a greater demand for quieter vehicles and lighter, more compact vehicles aimed at improving fuel efficiency. This has brought to light new challenges related to the NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) performance of automobiles, which were not previously given much attention, and has increased the need for countermeasures against noise and vibration problems.
Through this facility, we provide a testing environment that is not affected by constraints such as weather and road surface conditions, similar to those experienced during test course testing, thereby contributing to our customers' noise and vibration countermeasures and automobile development.

Our company has equipped our Yokohama Technical Center with an Acoustic Lab, which features world-class anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers, where we conduct state-of-the-art acoustic and vibration measurement and analysis, as well as research related to sound and vibration commissioned by our clients.
Furthermore, we have equipped our Yokohama Technical Center and Utsunomiya Technical & Product Center with Automotive Testing Labs, which allow us to evaluate everything from individual engines to actual vehicle conditions. In addition to contract testing requested by our customers, we also engage in joint research and development.
By integrating these sound and vibration testing technologies with automotive testing technologies, we aim to become a total solution provider in automotive development.
