We are pleased to announce that the firmware version of our "Multifunctional Sound Level Meters LA-2560/5560/5570" has been updated from Ver.1.17 to Ver.2.00 for all units shipped from September 27, 2006 onwards.
Customers who wish to upgrade the firmware of their LA-2560/5560/5570 sound level meter should contact their assigned sales office or distributor. This firmware upgrade is free of charge. Please note that the firmware upgrade will be performed after we receive your sound level meter from us.
How to check the firmware version
You can check the firmware version by selecting "Option/Version" in the "COND menu" within the menu.
Main changes
The format of the saved data has been changed.
We've added a feature that compares the remaining memory capacity with the size of the calculation data during auto-memory mode and issues a warning if there isn't enough memory.
I added a command that allows data on the SD card to be read via RS-232C.
When displaying noise levels, and during FFT and RTA analysis, it is now possible to pause the display value and save the saved data.
The peak list function for FFT has been fixed.
The recording time for the data recording option has been extended from 3 minutes to 15 minutes.
Points to note
This version update includes some changes to the saved data format. If you are processing data using Excel macros or Visual Basic, this may cause abnormal behavior in those programs (because the starting row number of the data may change).
For customers who are performing the above-mentioned processing, we ask that you modify your program when using a sound level meter version 2.00 or later. For details on the modification, please refer to the Excel file (which is a zip compressed file; please download it to your computer and extract it).
