High-Performance Sound Level Meter
LA-7000シリーズ

The LA-7000 series sound level meter features a large color LCD touch panel, significantly improving operation and allowing for easy and intuitive measurement.
The LA-7000 series not only measures and calculates noise levels, but also allows you to "measure while listening to sound" during the measurement process. By listening to the sound, you can check the condition of the object being measured, locate the sound source, and confirm that the recording was successful. This enables safe and reliable measurements in measurement environments where failure is not an option.
Furthermore, by equipping optional features, it evolves beyond just a sound level meter (noise meter) into a sound analyzer, frequency analyzer, and sound recorder*. (*Optional)
The LA-7000 series sound level meter allows for noise measurement, sound recording, frequency analysis, and source detection of abnormal noises, significantly improving the efficiency of measurement work.
Furthermore, by combining the data saved with the LA-7000 series with our diverse range of analysis software, it becomes possible to perform waveform analysis, sound quality evaluation, fluctuating sound analysis, and sound frequency simulation.

1/1 Real-time octave analysis function (standard feature)

RTA1/1 mode
RTA1/1 mode

This is one of the frequency analysis modes, displaying the data divided into octave bands. The vertical axis represents sound pressure level (loudness), and the horizontal axis represents frequency (pitch). You can see at a glance which pitches are loudest. You can also overlay and compare the memory data of RTA1/1 with the MAIN data.

Filter1/1 mode
Filter1/1 mode

By listening to sounds filtered through an octave band filter, you can isolate and hear only the sounds that are bothering you, even in noisy environments.
It helps to pinpoint the source of unusual noises by holding the microphone up to them.
Additionally, you can compare the sound pressure levels of Allpass (entire frequency range) and Bandpass (specific band).

Applicable standards IEC 61260-1:2014 Class 1 / JIS C 1513-1:2020 Class 1
Analysis band 16 Hz to 16 kHz (11 bands), Allpass1, Allpass2

Memory mode Manual, Auto, Logging, Record* (*When LA-0704 is installed)
Overlay function RTA mode *

The octave function includes an overlay function, which allows you to overwrite RTA memory data and measurement data (raw data).

Ambient noise compensation function RTA mode *

This can be used when you want to correct for ambient noise at a site during noise measurement.

What is background noise correction?
The sound pressure level measured while the equipment being measured is operating is a combined value of the sound emitted from the equipment and the background noise. Subtracting the effect of the background noise from this measurement to calculate the radiated sound pressure level of the equipment is called background noise correction.

Ambient noise correction function RTA mode

Points to note
When measuring ambient noise levels, it is important to obtain a sufficiently stable value.
In the frequency band, if the ambient noise data is larger than the signal, correction cannot be performed and the data will not be displayed.

*The overlay function and ambient noise reduction function can also be used in RTA1/3.

Convenient features

Calibration history function

Calibration is considered crucial when verifying the performance of a sound level meter. Acoustic calibration (verification using an acoustic calibrator) is performed before measurement. Having a calibration history makes management much easier in this case.

Convenient feature 1
Convenient feature 1

The recommended calibrator to be used can be registered in the sound level meter.
Registration items: Model of the calibrator used, calibration level value, serial number

Convenient Features 2
Convenient Features 2

Once calibration mode is completed by selecting OK, the calibration data is automatically saved to the internal memory (up to approximately 100 times). This calibration history data can be exported to an SD card (in .CSV format).
Items saved: (Calibration value, adjustment VR position, acoustic calibrator/internal reference signal used, calibration date and time)
*You need to register and select the calibration device you will be using.

Sound quality evaluation function (LA-0708A option)

Noise level evaluations can sometimes differ from human perception. In such cases, sound quality evaluations, such as loudness ratings, can be very effective.
Loudness is a useful tool for evaluating the perceived loudness of sound.
Sharpness is useful for identifying metallic, high-pitched, unpleasant sound components.

The CI value* is a value that takes into account time-averaged sound level and sharpness. It is simple and effective for applications such as ambient noise and machine noise (dental drills). (Further research is being conducted on its application scope.)
The LA-0708A's sound quality evaluation function is designed for stationary sounds. For non-stationary sound loudness evaluation, please use the sound quality evaluation software from the Oscope series.

* CI (Comfort Index) is one of the sound evaluation metrics developed by Professor Sonoko Kuwano.* CI is the sum of the "sharpness value" and "1/10 of the A-weighted time-averaged sound level." There are correlation examples with environmental noise and mechanical noise, and it is considered an effective measure for evaluating unpleasant sounds. The scope of application is still being investigated, so please use it as a reference value.

Sound and Vibration Analysis System O-Solution/DS-5000

Detailed analysis using analysis mode

Detailed analysis using analysis mode

By importing data (in WAV format) recorded with the LA-7000 series (+LA-0704) into O-Solution, you can play back the sound, perform frequency analysis, and octave analysis on your PC.
Additionally, by using an IIR filter (optional), it is possible to listen to the filtered sound while playing back the recorded audio.

As a signal input source for the DS-5000

As a signal input source for the DS-5000

Instead of using a microphone, you can input the analog output of the LA-7000 series into the DS-5000 to perform real-time analysis. The LA-7000 series can simultaneously output two signals: one with an acoustic filter (such as A-weighting) and one with a flat (Z-weighting) signal. These can then be analyzed simultaneously by the DS-5000.

Sound quality evaluation function OS-0525

Sound quality evaluation function OS-0525

The OS-0525 sound quality evaluation function allows you to obtain sound quality evaluation indicators that take into account human auditory characteristics and correspond to various perceptions of sound, such as "loudness," "sharpness," "roughness," "variability intensity," and "tonality."

Sound fluctuation analysis function OS-0526

Sound fluctuation analysis function OS-0526

The OS-0526 variable sound analysis function can extract only the components with large time variations that are not affected by level, enabling the quantification of various time-varying characteristics that were difficult to detect using roughness or variation intensity. It also includes a function to compare sounds with and without variations. (Variable Sound Simulator)

Time-frequency analysis function OS-0527

Time-frequency analysis function OS-0527

It can evaluate transient phenomena that are difficult to capture with FFT analysis. It can clearly display the time changes of frequency components while maintaining the frequency resolution of the characteristic quantities (frequency). It is equipped with short-time Fourier transform and wavelet transform.

Sound One: A sound platform that connects sensibility and physics

This web application allows for sound recording, sound editing, data management, audio testing, and linking subjective and physical quantities. It is useful for evaluating abnormal sounds and sound design.

You can stream the sound you want to evaluate via the web, collect listener feedback, and check its correlation with parameters such as sound pressure level. This service is available on your smartphone, computer, or any other device you own.

SoundPLAN noise environmental prediction software

ASJ CN-Model 2007
SJ RTN-Model 2013

This is acoustic simulation software that predicts and calculates how noise generated from roads, railways, factories, etc., propagates.
Even in areas where various noise sources such as road noise, railway noise, factory noise, large retail stores, construction work, and power substations coexist, complex calculations can be performed without switching software.

    3200 BF Monitor

Building upon the LA-7000 series' ability to pinpoint the location of unwanted noises (sounds filtered through an octave bandpass filter), this device takes things a step further. It allows you to "visualize" unwanted noises (frequency of a 1/3 octave bandpass filter).

Calibration

To guarantee the accuracy of the values measured by a measuring instrument, the instrument must be calibrated at appropriate intervals. Only by using a calibrated measuring instrument can the reliability and stability of the obtained measurements be improved. There are three calibration services available for high-performance sound level meters: "ASNITE calibration," "JCSS calibration," and "general calibration."
