The FP-4135 vehicle-mounted positive displacement flow detector is a positive displacement flow detector that, when used in combination with the DF-2200 vehicle-mounted fuel flow meter or the FM series digital flow meter, enables high-precision measurement of fuel flow rates for gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and other fuels.
The flow rate range is wide, from 0.1 to 200 L/h (measurement range ratio 2000:1), allowing measurement from minute flow rates during idling to large flow rates under high load conditions when using low-calorific value fuels such as alcohol.
Furthermore, the flow detection unit is compact and can be used in a temperature range of -30 to +100 °C, allowing it to be installed in the engine compartment to measure fuel flow during actual driving.

1. Improved vibration resistance and environmental resistance

The flow detection unit and signal processing unit are separated to take into account temperature changes in the engine compartment and environmental testing.
It can withstand vibrations of approximately 3 G and ambient temperatures from -30 °C to +100 °C, offering excellent vibration and environmental resistance.

2. Built-in ultra-compact filter and temperature sensor

By miniaturizing the filter, we have achieved a 70% reduction in space compared to our previous model (FP-2140H).
A miniature filter is standard equipment inside the detector to protect it from impurities in the fuel. The filter is removable and can be maintained by the customer after each test.
A temperature sensor is also included as standard equipment.

3. One-touch pipe connection with SAE fittings (optional)

By attaching an optional vehicle fitting to the top of the detection unit, it can be easily connected to the vehicle's fuel hose. This also reduces the risk of fuel leaks in the engine compartment.

4. Wide range, low pressure loss, and standard alcohol compatibility.

Low pressure loss: By employing a magnetic encoder and reducing the weight of the detection unit, pressure loss is reduced.

Case Studies

Repeated measurement of fuel consumption over a given section during actual driving.

A compact, vibration-resistant vehicle-mounted fuel flow detector (FP-4135) and a small, lightweight GPS speedometer (LC-8300A) are mounted on a motorcycle, and the average speed, fuel consumption, and fuel efficiency are measured every 10 meters from the start. Based on the results, the vehicle's fuel efficiency performance is evaluated.

1. When used on a bench-mounted engine test bench, etc., it is possible to extend the maintenance interval for filter cleaning by adding an external filter to the primary side of the flow meter. (Filters are quoted separately.)
