An impulse hammer is a vibration hammer that incorporates force sensors for measuring the natural frequency of structures and performing modal analysis.

In addition to the general-purpose GK-3100, the GK-2110 is an ultra-compact type weighing 4.8 g, suitable for use as a vibrator for small and lightweight parts, while the GK-4110G20 is a large type weighing 1.1 kg, suitable for use as a vibrator for automobile white bodies and large structures, allowing you to choose the right one for your application.

By attaching Accelerometer to the object to be measured and striking it with an impulse hammer, it becomes possible to measure the frequency response function (natural frequency measurement) using an FFT analyzer based on two signals: the excitation force signal from the impulse hammer and the response acceleration signal from Accelerometer.
Furthermore, by loading the obtained frequency response function into modal analysis software (such as MEscope), it is possible to perform modal analysis on the object.

Features

GK-2110

  • With a lightweight hammer mass of 4.8g (with plastic handle), it is possible to perform vibration analysis and countermeasures for small cases such as HDDs and thin-diameter pipes such as compressors.

  • Vibration is possible up to approximately 20 kHz.

    It comes with two types of handles: a plastic handle for vibrating very light objects and an aluminum handle for generating greater vibration force. You can choose the one that best suits your needs.

GK-3100

  • The hammer mass is 160g as standard, and can be increased to 235g by attaching the included extender, making it possible to obtain a wide range of excitation forces with this single device.

  • A dedicated sensor amplifier is included.

  • Four types of impact tips are included as standard. The vibration frequency can be changed to suit the application.

GK-4110G20

  • With a hammer mass of 1.1 kg, it is possible to perform vibration analysis of machine frames that affect machining accuracy, and excitation for modal analysis of automobile white bodies.

  • With a built-in constant current drive (CCLD) preamplifier, direct connection to the analyzer is possible.

  • Four types of impact tips are included as standard. The vibration frequency can be changed to suit the application.
