RC-S Real Car Simulation Bench

This system can evaluate various performance aspects of next-generation vehicles without including tire elements.
It reproduces transient behavior that cannot be achieved with a chassis dynamometer, enabling vehicle control evaluation including regenerative braking targeted at electric vehicles, as well as vehicle noise measurement excluding road noise. It is also a system capable of evaluating autonomous driving functions.

RC-S realizes transient testing with real vehicles by combining real-time model computation and low-inertia motors. By replacing the actual vehicle wheels with tire-type bearings and connecting the axle shaft to the outside of the vehicle to a low-inertia motor, it enables various evaluations excluding tire elements.
Additionally, by connecting to ADAS/AD verification simulation tools, it is possible to evaluate autonomous driving functions such as lane-keep assist on the test bench, as well as measure vehicle noise using a sound level meter.

Case Studies

By collaborating with simulation tools for ADAS/AD development, we simulate real vehicle driving environments on the platform.
In conjunction with various sensor emulators and sensor models, we achieve system verification and AI learning for ADAS/AD vehicles on the platform.
By enabling development and evaluation that could only be done in simulations or test courses on the platform, we can realize safe and reliable ADAS/AD vehicle development.

Example of Operation - Scenario of Driving on General Roads (Collision Damage Mitigation Brake / Lane Departure Warning)

The camera sensors and millimeter-wave radar sensors, which are widely used for ADAS functions in RC-S, can be evaluated safely and efficiently in real vehicle conditions.
Examples include operational scenarios for evaluating collision mitigation brakes and lane departure warning systems, which have a potential for collision.
Another use case is that it can be linked with the car navigation system, allowing for the use of navigation information in bench testing of ECU control technologies.
