The FG-1300 fiber sensor amplifier is a high-performance amplifier for non-contact rotation detectors that emits red visible light from its built-in LED and detects the reflected light that returns after hitting a rotating object. It is used in combination with the dedicated detector FS-5500* / FS-540 opto-fiber sensor. The FS-5500* / FS-540 opto-fiber sensor employs an environmentally resistant design in which glass fiber is encased in a stainless steel flexible tube. It is extremely effective as a detector for measuring the rotation of thin shafts of micromotors and rotation in confined spaces. *A thin sensor has been added to the FS sensor, enabling measurement of workpieces and measurements that were difficult with conventional models.

  • Capable of measuring up to a maximum response frequency of 10 kHz, even for detecting high-speed rotating objects.

  • Using red visible light, detection is easy even when measuring objects where optical axis positioning is difficult, such as thin shafts.

  • Two measurement distance settings are available: normal and close range. Detection is possible from close range up to a maximum of 69 mm (when using reflective marks).

  • It is possible to divide unevenly spaced pulses into a single pulse, which may be detected when measuring without reflective marks.

FS-5500 Optofiber Sensor

Suitable for small workpieces

Capable of detecting rotation in small spots such as 2 mm pitch zebra tape, turbine blades, and small motors.

High resolution

It can be used as a sensor for crank angle detection, tracking analysis, and balancing measurement, where high resolution is required.
Ideal as a detection unit for FFT tachometers, DS, CF, etc.

Vehicle measurement, equipment integration measurement

Its slim design and ability to operate in temperatures ranging from -40 to 250°C make it versatile and easy to handle, allowing for rotational speed measurement of engines, axles, gears, and drive shafts in vehicles, and rotation and angle detection in confined spaces and under low and high temperatures in equipment such as parts production lines.

Detection of the presence or absence of minute components

With a Φ2 mm output aperture, it projects precisely onto even the smallest parts. By detecting the amount of reflected light from the smallest parts and determining the level of reflected light using a threshold function, it is possible to easily detect the presence or absence of smallest parts moving along the line.
