The founding spirit that underpins Ono Sokki

It's worth trying because nobody else is doing it.

Ono Sokki was born from the "accumulation of challenges and ingenuity" of its founder, Yoshichiro Ono. In post-war Japan, his reputation as a "skilled electrician" spread through word of mouth, stemming from his hobby of repairing radios, and his sound level meter, recognized as precision class, was adopted by the Electrical Testing Laboratory. Later, the electron tube counter he invented, which used the oscillation frequency of a crystal oscillator as a reference, was combined with a digital CPU and developed as "digital technology."
Amidst the chaos of wartime, he studied electrical and mechanical engineering overseas, and the spirit of continuing to challenge himself with his colleagues to create things that were needed in the era but that no one had ever made before forms the foundation of Ono Sokki today.
In 2024, our company celebrated its 70th anniversary. In this era of increasingly diverse lifestyles and ways of thinking, we have redefined our corporate philosophy as we strive to grow into a "100-year company." Our new corporate philosophy reflects our unchanging reason for existence even amidst significant societal changes, and outlines our future vision of flexibly and quickly adapting to the environment. Inheriting our founding spirit, "It's worth taking on a challenge because no one else is doing it," our new philosophy embodies our desire as a measuring instrument manufacturer to "sincerely engage with numbers, and use the power of measurement to connect the 'present' and 'future' of social issues, and to create a sustainable and prosperous future together."
