Support from headquarters to overseas subsidiaries

In our medium-term management plan, Challenge Stage IV, we have set "Expanding sales of measuring instruments globally" as a measure to increase performance. To achieve the goals of this measure, we need to address the current challenges one by one, such as insufficient market research and promotional activities, and delays in developing sales channels. To solve these challenges, it is important to have our overseas subsidiaries, who are on the front lines, advance the measures, but we believe that by having the Japanese head office and overseas subsidiaries work closely together and by establishing a system in which the head office can provide solid support, we can further accelerate the progress toward achieving our goals.

As a first step, we are working on strengthening the organizational structure of our Japanese headquarters. Until 2024, we belonged to the same block as the domestic sales department, but from 2025 onwards, we have become an independent "Overseas Sales Management Block," allowing us to operate with greater autonomy. In addition, by dividing the organization from one unit into the "Overseas Sales Group" and the "Overseas Business Promotion Group," we have created a system that allows employees to focus on their work with even greater specialization than before.

Furthermore, a new "Market Development Group" has been established within the Marketing Block. This department will not only explore the potential of new markets within Japan, but will also be responsible for researching overseas markets and planning strategic products for market development, with the aim of strengthening competitiveness in overseas markets.

By strengthening our organizational structure and working with our overseas subsidiaries to implement region-specific measures, we will promote global sales expansion.

Leveraging our track record and brand recognition within Japan, we primarily conduct sales activities targeting Japanese automotive-related companies and machinery manufacturers. Our line equipment, in particular, sees many repeat orders and forms the foundation of our sales. When our domestic customers build new facilities at their overseas locations, they often install the same equipment as their domestic facilities. By working closely with our domestic sales team and sharing information, we propose appropriate system upgrades and contribute to the smooth construction of our customers' overseas facilities.

In recent years, inquiries from Mexico have been increasing year by year, while investment in EVs has been active in North America and Europe, leading to a decline in investment in engine-related products, where our company has traditionally excelled. Moving forward, we will maintain the trust we have built with our customers over many years through sales activities that also utilize digital transformation (DX), while also working to uncover new needs.

India's population has exceeded 1.4 billion, surpassing China to become the world's largest economy. Furthermore, its GDP is expected to soon surpass Japan's, making it the world's fourth-largest economy. In parallel with this national growth, India's industrial sector is also projected to experience sustained growth. Simultaneously, the automotive industry, which has been our main target, is expected to see increased production, leading to anticipated demand for measuring instruments.

To keep pace with this market expansion and achieve growth, we will first focus on strengthening our sales network. We will shift our sales channels from direct sales from our company to sales in cooperation with distributors, and will particularly focus on building relationships with distributors that have sales channels to local companies in India. Furthermore, in line with the product strategy of our medium-term management plan, we will narrow our main target market to measuring instruments for manufacturing line shipment inspection and work to expand sales.

In Southeast Asia, localizing advanced technologies in the measurement field and developing human resources are challenges, and we believe that solving these issues will lead to the growth of the entire manufacturing industry and strengthen market competitiveness.

As a partner supporting the development of local industries, our company is promoting initiatives centered on improving service capabilities. By streamlining operations through the introduction of management systems, we will utilize the resulting surplus capacity for dialogue with customers, thereby building a system that accurately grasps their needs and provides more appropriate proposals. Furthermore, by accumulating and utilizing knowledge, we will establish a system that can flexibly respond to potential challenges. In the current Thai market, we are creating an environment where customers can confidently introduce and use products by enhancing repair and inspection services, providing support in the local language, and strengthening cooperation with headquarters and distributors, while also supporting the acquisition of measurement technology and its implementation in the field.

Through these initiatives, we aim to contribute to solving local challenges and developing regional industries.

In recent years, the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) has accelerated rapidly in China, and the EV industry has expanded to the point where it boasts the top market share in the world. Consequently, related component manufacturers, particularly motor manufacturers, are seeing an increased need for measurement to improve quality, and there is a shift from qualitative to quantitative evaluation. Furthermore, automated pass/fail judgment in production facilities is becoming more common, and inquiries are particularly active from the South and East China regions, where many motor manufacturers are located.

At our company, we aim to strengthen our sales activities in our areas of expertise, namely sound and vibration, and line judgment equipment, by leveraging the problem-solving capabilities of our staff and our collaboration with local distributors. Furthermore, not only with measuring instruments but also with custom-made testing equipment and services, we will utilize our opportunities to visit sites to resolve problems and propose systems that comply with standards, striving to become a company that accurately responds to measurement needs.
