Reasons for joining the company
During my student days, I majored in acoustic engineering and conducted joint research with our company.
It was a natural progression from there, and I joined the company because I wanted to explore the world of sound even further.

Career Steps

1998年

New employee and training
Responsible for sales of sound quality evaluation systems and measuring instruments.
I studied abroad in Germany for a month to learn cutting-edge sound quality evaluation and analysis techniques.

1999年

Seconded to an automobile manufacturer.
I am involved in the analysis of fluctuating sounds.

2002年

In the technology development group, I am involved in developing custom products for customers and analyzing abnormal noises.

2007年

I was in charge of planning FFT analyzers and other products in the product planning group.

2013年

Consulting services to solve acoustic and vibration-related problems.

2015年

I was seconded to a local subsidiary in Southeast Asia, specifically Thailand.

July 2019

I was assigned to the seminar group.

April 2020

The organization has been restructured into a Global Support Group.

Visualizing the human perception of sound.

Since 2013, I have been working in a consulting group, providing contract measurement services related to acoustics and vibration. Consulting involves providing expertise in acoustics and vibration, rather than offering products.
Currently, I am working on research into subjective evaluation of sound.
Sound can be evaluated in two ways: numerically, such as in Hz or dB, and subjectively, such as being described as a "gentle sound" or a "harsh sound."
We quantify and formalize these subjective human perceptions, summarize them statistically, and visualize the evaluation values by replacing them with colors, graphs, and animations.

I joined the company because I wanted to further pursue the world of sound, which I had been researching during my student days.
From my first year at the company, I was given the opportunity to study abroad in Germany, and from my second year, I spent three years working on joint development projects with an automobile manufacturer.
In addition to acquiring specialized knowledge about sound in each environment, research in different cultural environments,
I learned a great deal about the structure of a large corporation. Also, I had a strong desire to be involved in the entire manufacturing process, from upstream to downstream, so I volunteered to be involved in the planning of our core catalog products, "DS-3000" and "Oscope."
The role of planning involves predicting market needs several years in advance and connecting customers with sales and technology teams. This has allowed me to develop a broad perspective and the ability to coordinate various aspects of the project.
This is proving useful in my current consulting work.

Responsible for [promotion] in the ASEAN region

Since 2015, I have been seconded to a local subsidiary in Southeast Asia, Thailand, where I am engaged in promotional activities for the ASEAN region.
In addition to our office in Thailand, we regularly visit Vietnam and Malaysia to conduct daily promotional sales of various measuring instruments, including those for sound, vibration, rotation, and torque.
Leveraging my experience in product planning and consulting, I strive to provide not just product introductions, but also technical advice.

From Japan to the world, with pride in our pioneering spirit.

After working in departments such as product planning, I was assigned to the consulting department, where I had the challenging task of listening to customers' problems and proposing and measuring solutions. However, I believe I acquired skills that are very useful in my current role. Developing overseas markets is a job that tests one's overall abilities as a person.
Sales pitches to international customers from different cultures, communication with Thai staff, living and eating in Southeast Asia where Japanese customs don't apply, and so on. To be honest, there are a lot of challenges, but I knock on the doors of new customers with pride, knowing that "I'm the one developing international customer base."
